Woodblock and linoleum printing are both relief printing processes. That means you carve away what you don't want to print, and put ink on the sections that remain. I prefer to carve birch plywood. Wood is less restant to carving than linoleum, but it has a grain, which can be difficult to carve against. You have to plan ahead so that most of your lines go with the grain. If there are a lot of lines close to each other I use linoleum, because the wood veneer might pop off.
The first two images are single blocks printed with blended inks. The next two images I used four blocks printed with transparent inks, one on top of the other to give six colors. The remaining colored images are single block images hand-colored with water colors.
